The Dragon's Keep

Baiey finised eating and stood up putting the plate in the sink she looked out the window. the storm had gotton worse.

Kyera finished throwing up and curled up on the bed crying. It hurt so much.

Jared finished and came up behind her. "Guess we are stuck here for the night Bailey."

Hakan brought the cup to her. "Kitten you need to drink this now." How could she, he wondered. Did she not care about herself or the babe?

bailey looked up at him smiling. "I think i'll just about survive." she grinned cheekily.

Kyera reached out and took the cup. Drinking it slowly she tried to take deep breaths.

Jared laughed. "I hope so." He kissed her neck gently.

Hakan watched her saying nothing.

Bailey smiled. She loved hte taste of his lips. and the feel off them.

Kyera managed to keep it down for once. she curled up into a tighter ball and cried.

Jared sighed and held her close. "Now what?"

Hakan went and got her more. "You will do as the healer said Kitten and drink all of this."

Bailey cuddled close to him. "I dn't know. We still hae a couple of hours before dawn. " she said looking up at him.

Kyera nodded and took the cup drinking it. Before she could finish it she was throwing up again. She couldn't hold it in.

Jared smiled. "WEll your wish is my command love."

Hakan snarled, grabbed the cup and went to get more of the brew for her.

Bailey smiled and took his hand sitting on the couch with him she snuggled up against the fire. "Tell m about you Jared."

Kyera continued to drink the last lot of the brew. Struggling to keep it down. Once she finished she dropped the cup and curled up on the bed crying.

Jared sighed. "Not much to tell. My mom died when I was born and I grew up here in Hakan's keep. My father was one of his men and the women took care of me. My dad never had time for me."

Hakan sat on the bed, saying nothing.

Bailey stroked his leg gently. "I'm Sorry Jared." she said.

Kyera held onto her stomach staring at the floor.

Jared shrugged his shoudlers. "It is what it is Bailey."

Hakan lay down and said nothing.

Bailey smiled slightly. " What do you like to read then ?" she asked.

Kyera slowly fell asleep.She moaned in her sleep. she wanted hakan to hold her and tell her eerything was going to be ok.

Jared sighed. "I don't get to read much. Usually too busy with things for Hakan."

Hakan stood and headed to the balcony.

Bailey yawned and cuddled into him. "Hmmm What kind of things ?" she asked.

Jared sighed. "I help to make sure the men do what they should, check to make sure everything runs smooth. I mediate between people before taking it to Hakan."

Bailey watched him. He semed very into his work. "you amaze me jared." she smiled.

Jared laughed. "Really? Only you would think that."

Bailey Grinned. "Well you better start getting used to it jared. I;m Determind to stick around." she smiled.

Jared laughed. "I sure hope so." He kissed her gently.

Later that night

Bailey was tucked up on the sofa sleepng in Jareds arms. It was getting close to bedtime.

Kyera was thrashing around in her bed crying.

Jared sighed. "Bailey, come on it's late and you need to get to bed."

Hakan sat by the fire, saying nothing.

Bailey loked up at him smiling she yawned. "Only if you join me." she grinned standing up.

Kyera turned over again Sobbing she called out for hakan in her sleep.

Jared smiled. "Sure Bailey."

Hakan walked over and sat next to her. He touched her arm gently.

Bailey smiled and walked with hm to the bed laying down she waited for him to lay own then cuddled up against him.

Kyera sort of soothed at his touch she opened her eys slightly holding on to him. "I'm sorry hakan." she sobbed.
