The Dragon's Keep

"The best areas to hunt. We go by where we saw the game this time last year."

Bailey smiled ppointing to a certain area. "What about there that has an over population of Game/." she said.

Jared looked up at her.

"It does?" How come he didn;t know that.

Bailey nodded. "Yes and othe wild animals." she said smiling. He was good looking.

"Interesting." He drank some wine, oblivious to her looks. Jared was at a point he felt no female wanted him.

Bailey smiled watching him, She wanted to say something But didn't. She stood up. "I'm going to go for a walk. I'll see you around. Thanks again." she said.

Jared waved as she left, planning the hunting trip. They would be gone for several days so not only did the need provisions but he needed to make sure all was taken care of in the keep as well. That meant leaving another person in charge. Jared was going to suggest Kyera. Smiling, he decided to find Hakan.

Hakan lay on the bed, holding her close as she slept. Kyera was his and his alone. Not only that, she carried his child. The thought that he would be a father terrified him. Children were not his strong point but he would try. His own father was not a good role model but he would be for his son..or daughter.

Bailey continued to walk through the keep. she'd found the Ballroom. The great hall. The Kitchen. Other spare rooms. the Gardens and now. The libreary walking in she sat down infront of the fire that crackled like it was alive she watched the flames dance casting long shadows across the room and oer the books. Picking up one of the books she curled up near the fire and began to read with only the sound of the pages turning and the fire crackling to keep her company.

Kyera yawned wakin up. She'd slept peacefuly like a log. Maybe it was the fact that she hadn't slept in so long that she had slept like that. Or maybe because she hadn't eaten. Or it could even just be because she was pregant and getting tired easier all the time. She looked up and smiled as she saw hakan holding her protectively smiling she sat up slightly. "Hey baby are you feelng beter ?" she asked looking at him worriedly.

Hakan grinned. "We are fine kitten. You?" His hand went to her belly where he gently touched her. Dark eyes looked into hers. He was about to say something when there was a knock at the door. Snarling he stood and threw on some pants before going to answer.

Jared grinned when Hakan opened the door. "We are preparing for the hunt and I though while we are gone Kyera can be in charge." Jared waved at her.

Kyera stood and dressed quickly comin up behind Hakan she smiled at Jared. "Are you up for hunting baby ?" she askedl ooking at him wrapping her arms around him while he talked to Jare. She loved the way he touched her belly she believed he'd make a brilliant father one day. Just then Hawke burst his way through running past Jared and hakan into her arms. Kyera smiled wrapping her arms around hawke cuddling him.

Hakan watched as the boy ran in before turning to Jared. "When do we leave?" He did not like the idea of leaving his mate alone her and pregnant. It did not sit well with the dragon or the male. But he knew he had to in order to feed his people.

Jared smiled. "Couple days at most. Bailey showed me a good place on the maps. Said game is abundant there so figured what have we to loose. THe men are readying to set out as soon as we can so we can be back just as quick." Jared knew Hakan would not want to be long from his mate.

Kyera looked up at the mentioning of baileys name. She smiled. "Is bailey ok now ?" she asked. "She always was the one to notice the small things like that." she said while she ran her hand through hawkes hair with one hand and held onto Hakans hand with her other. she feltl ike she was in a proper family finally.

Jared blinked. "Umm yeah I guess. Didn't ask."

Hakan sighed. "Tell me when you are read."

Jared nodded and left.

Hakan closed the door and turned to her. "You will be in charge kitten and Hawke you will protect her while I am gone. " He hated to leave but he had to do his duty as lord.

Kyera kissed him smiling. "We shall be fine baby , We'll probably just curl up in the libreary reading books or making things won't we hawke ?" she said smiling down at him. Hawke nodded smiling. He was the Man of the house !

Hakan smiled, walked over and kissed her hard. "Do you think we can be alone for a little while kitten. WE have great need of you." He looked down, hoping she would follow his eyes to where his need was evident.

Outside Jared saw to it that the best men were picked, weapon and horses ready, food packed. They would leave soon. It bothered him that Hakan had Kyera to come home to and he had no one. Sure he flirted but nothing came of it.

Kyera looked down to where he was looking and covered hawkes eyes kissing him again. "We need to fixthat." she purred kissing him smiling. Turning to hawke she looked down at him. "Why don't you go play for a bit sweetie. I Want to spend some time with Hakan before he has to go." she smiled. Hawke glared at hakan hugged kyera then nodded and left. Kyera chuckled turning to him she kissed him hard rubbing up against him.

Hakan moaned. "Kitten. Yes more, we need more." He grabbed her and kissed her savagely. RIght now he wanted nothing but his mate, wanted to please her and get his own release before leaving.

kyera pulled back moaning slightly. "More you say ?" she asked purring as she rubbed up against him. "Well by all mreans. Take what you need." she purred unbuttoning his top slowly as she kissed him again.

Hakan grabbed her and sat down on a chair with her in his lap. He would be away from his mate for days and that would be torture. Hands touched and carressed her everywhere. "Kitten,"he moaned.

Kyera smiled and ran her hands through his hair and down his body she kissed him. "Take me hakan.2 she purred. She needed her mate Now.

Hakan grabbed her, ripped off his pants and took her hard. He was going to make sure she would miss him when he was gone.

Kyera sat curled up on his lap in the chair when it was over. She was now offically worn out. she ran a finger down his chest smiling as he held her. Looking up at himsmiled smiled nipping at his lip gently she kissed him again. "I'm going to miss you." she purred kissing him. "You be careful and hurry home. I don't know what i'll do with out you." she said smiling.

Hakan stood and walked over to the bed with her in his arms. Gently he laid her down and put the covers on her. "Rest kitten." Bending down he kissed her forehead and touched her stomach. "I promise to return as soon as I can. Stay safe and well." Hakan dressed and headed to find Jared.

Kyera Watched him leave and sighed. slowly she ended up closing her eyes and falling into a long sleep. she was so tired but it felt like something was missing she needed something to cuddle into and there was nothing.

Hakan and Jared rode with the men to the spot Bailey had spoken off. He wanted nothing more than to return home to his mate. Once there they set up a small camp. It was almost night and they bedded down. Staring at the stars, Hakan wondered what she was doing.

Jared lay awake. Felt empty, oddly empty. The men talked of their wives as they lay in the bed rolls and he could tell by the look on Hakan's face who he was thinking of. Jared sighed and closed his eyes, trying to sleep.
