The Dragon's Keep

Jared sighed and began to count his side.

Bailey went to move something to count behind it and Screamed backing up .

Instantly Jared was at her side. "You ok? What is it Bailey?"

Bailey pointed at the floor. "Rat ." she shuddered moving closer to Jared.

Seeing she was afraid, he sweeped her up into his arms. "Maybe we should leave this til tomorrow then Bailey."

Bailey Rested her head on his shoulder for a second before shaking it. "No We gotta get this done , plus i bet we've got loads to do tomorrow as well.. If oyu could just remove the rat.. then i'll be fine." she said. she was comfortable in his arms.

Smiling, he walked over to a barrel and place her on it. Jared headed over and picked up the rat by the tail. "Be back in a bit Bailey." He headed up and outside, letting the creature go.

Bailey shuddered as he picked it up but let out a huge sigh of relief when he took it out. Jumping off the barrel she went back to counting.

Jared smiled as he came back in. "All good now love?"

Bailey smiled walkng over ot him she pecked him on the cheek. "Yes , thank you , I'm Nearly done counting as well." she said.

Jared touched his cheek and smiled. He went back to counting. "How about we go for a nice ride after this?" He found himself liking spending time with her.

Bailey smiled. "I'd like that but its rahter late. Maybe tomorrow ?" she said laughing as she Noted down the food she counted waiting for Jared to finish

Jared sighed. "Sure, works for me." He turned and went back to counting. SHot down, he thought. Even though she said tomorrow he knew what that meant. It was a no. He quietly counted the food, almost done.

Bailey waled over to him watching him smiling she stiffled a yawn. she was rather tired and she didn't understand why. Sitting down on a box she leaned her head back against the wall watching him smiling.

Jared was kicking himslef in the ass. He must have read her wrong, very wrong. SIghing, she finished his count and turned to her. "I'm done. Take it your are too?"

Bailey Jumped off the box Nodding she handed him the bit of paper. "Yup.. Now I Think I need sleep. Tomorrow yes ? " she asked hopefully.

He smiled at her sadly. "Yeah sure. Thanks for your help." He took the paper and added his numbers to hers.

Bailey smiled and kissed him on the cheek lightly. "good Night Jared. Sleep well." she said heading up to her room.

Hakan woke the next morning slowly and sighed. Kyera was sleeping in a neraby chair. He stood and picked her up and placed her in their bed.

Jared had headed out early that morning to check over some things with the blacksmith. His mood was miserable. What am I doing wrong that Hakan has a female and I don'.t

Kyera opened her eyes slightly smiling up at him. "Hey baby , how are you feeling ?" she asked.

Bailey was awake sitting at the table down stairs in the kitchen. she was eating breakfast staring at the window.

Hakan smiled. "Good, now you rest kitten."

Jared headed back into the kitchen and spotted her. He smiled a little. "Hey. THanks for the help yesterday."

Kyera looked up at him reaching up she took touched his cheek. "Are you sure your ok ? maybe we should get you someting to eat first." she said getting up off the bed.

Bailey smiled. "Your welcome. Are you ready for that ride then ? " she asked. She was realed excited about riding out with him.

Hakan snarled. "Kitten we are fine. You lay down and rest."

Jared looked at her. "Yeah sure if you still want to go."

Kyera hesitated stroking his cheek slightly smiling she leaned foreward and kissed him. "If your sure." She said laying back.

Bailey frowned. "Why wouldn't i ?" she asked.

Hakan looked at her. "We are sure kitten now rest, we won't go anywhere." He reached out and caressed her cheek.

Jared shrugged his shoulders. "Don't know but if you are still up to it I am too."
