The Dragon's Keep

Bailey was in the Kitchen when kyera came down for somethign to eat. All Kyera could think about was hakan. She was worried about him and wondered what he was doing Drawing her attention back to real like she smiled at bailey. "Feeling better cousin?" she asked Bailey nodded. "I Must say Jared has been awfully nice." she smiled ating . Kyera Nodded and theyt chatted for a bit more.

The next morning early, the men were in place and ready. THe hunt began. Placed in various locations with arrows, they waited. In silence they heard the cracking of twigs as a herd of deer approached. They managed to get a few before some got away. All and all a good haul for the first day. Hakan smiled. At this rate they would be home sooner than planned.

Kyera was in the kitchen again eating food. Bailey was no where to be seen and hawke was on the other side of the table eating as well. When She had gone back to bed she had headed to His Solarand slept in his chair. Just to feel closer to him. She missed him already like a whole in her heart.

Jared was happpy. Here it was mid day and they had caught many deer. Sitting in the bushes he and Hakan waited until more approached. There was some noise, yelling and then the sound of an arrow. Hakan yelled out and Jared sat wide eyed at the arrow protruding from his shoulder. Instantly he began to yell and the men scramble to help their lord who had passed out.

Kyera had gone backup to the solar while hakan had found some children his age and gone exploring. That was fine with her. It gave her time to draw. So here she was sitting up in the Solar with some canvas's and ink. She had been drawing Hakan in his dragon form when she felt a twinge in her heart. Something was wrong. She stood up and walked to the window. Looking down on the village then staring out into the far hoping hakan was ok.

The men built a litter and put Hakan on it. Jared knew they had to get him home quickly. SLowly the horse began to bring him back to the keep. SOme men stayed behind to finish the hunt. It was night when they managed to get back to the keep.

Kyera had paced Hakans solar not eating dinner staying by the window. Soon it had become dark and she could see all the villages lights lit up but still no hakan. She would not sleep until she knew he was ok. glancing back to the window she dsaw jared ride up with some men and .. Hakan. Pulling up her dress so she could run bettean overr she ran down the stairs just as they entered the keep and ran over to them. "What happened? " she asked Jared as she ran over to hakan she looked down into his closed eyes. "Baby ? Hakan ?" she asked frantically.

Jared looked at her. "An arrow. We have stopped the blood loss but there was so much of it." He was tired, so tired from trying to keep Hakan alive. He had taken off his shirt and placed it over Hakan to keep him warm.

"An Arrow ?" she asked confused glancing down at him. "One of your own ?" she asked. She noticed Jared had no shirt on. Taking off her cloak she had on she wrapped it round him. "Lets get him inside. once he's in i'll look after him and you can see to your sefl." she said.

Jared nodded. The men carried Hakan to his chambers and Jared headed to his own to change. Why would one of their own do this to Hakan. What did they have against him? Jared knew he would have to find out.

Kyera closed the door as the men left hakan and her. Walking over to him she grabbed her bag and stroked his hair gently before rummaging through her bag.

Bailey was wondering the hals when she saw jared. She smiled walking over to him frowning slightly. "Why are you wearing Kyera's cloak ? are you ok ?" she asked.

Jared shook his head.

"Hakan has been hurt bad and I needed to use my shirt to stop the blood from flowing."

He was tired and ready to collapse.

Bailey frowned. "Oh dear. You look like your about to collapase from tiredness. why don't you go lay down and have a nap." she said. "Here lean on me so you don't fall over." she said taking some of his weight.

Jared allowed her to lead him to his small room. Since it was only him, he took the smallest room in the keep. He noticed how nice she felt under him.

Bailey led him into his room laying him down on the bed. "there sleep now. You looklike you don't need telling though." she smiled.

He reached for her as his eyes closed. He wanted..he wanted what Hakan had, comfort and love.

Bailey smiled kissingh is hand gently before standing up straight and kissing his forehead before blushing and running outside.

JAred fell into an exhausted sleep.

Bailey sat in the libreary reading a book.

Hakan woke briefly in the night. Pain, that was all he could feel was searing pain.

Jared had woken and gone outside. SOmehow he felt this was his fualt.

Kyera opened her eyes after briefly going for a little nap. Hey baby how do you feel ? she asked.

Baileylooked out the window and saw Jared. Standing up she went to see him. "Hey Are you ok ?" she asked.

Hakan looked at her. "What happened?"

Jared nodded. All his fault. "I should have checked the men closer. This would not have happened if I did."

Kyera moved closer to him looking at his shoulder "You got hit by an arrow. From one of your own." she frowned

Bailey shook his head. "You weren't to of known. Maybe it could of even been an accident. But you cannot blame your self."

Hakan scowled. "I was?"

Jared looked at her. "it is my job to protect him. I have failed."

Kyera bit her lip nodding. "Jared is very worried and angry." she said looking at his wound.

Bailey shook her head. "You Weren't to off known Jared. And he's in the hands of my cousin he will be fine." she said laying a hand on his hsoulder.
